Holding a PhD in microbiology from the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland), Fabio is a researcher passionate about host-pathogen interactions. After completing a postdoctoral position at the Laboratory of Microbiology of the University of Neuchâtel, where his research focused on the interactions between pathogenic fungi —particularly Aspergillus fumigatus— and bacteria from the pulmonary microbiota, he will now study the environmental interactions of A. fumigatus to understand how they shape it’s human pathogenicity. Outside the lab, Fabio enjoys going for a run, exploring the surroundings, reading, and watching series.
