Bruno Steimbrüch

Postdoc

Bruno is a passionate researcher with a background in microbiology and molecular biology. After completing his PhD at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology of Rosario (IBR) in Argentina, he moved to Sweden, where he expanded his research into host–pathogen interactions. Now at Research Center Borstel, he aims to understand the role of respiratory pathogens in the development of chronic lung diseases. His work uses human airway models and gene expression analysis to understand how respiratory infections affect the lungs and contribute to disease. Outside the lab, Bruno enjoys puzzles, video games, hiking, and reading in nature. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his young son.
